Transport and Directions
Pishwanton Wood is approximately 25 miles from Edinburgh city and 3 miles south of Gifford.
After leaving Gifford, at the top of the road splits into three. One road leads to Humbie, one to Gifford Golf Club, the other to Longyester.
Take the left hand turn, following signs for Longyester. At Longyester farm, turn right at the signpost for the quarry and follow the road for just under one mile.
Pishwanton Community wood is on the right hand side of the road. You will notice a large wooden kiln shed and the turf roof of our craft workshop. Please park in the car park provided, which is a hundred metres further up the road from these buildings.

By bus: The East Coast bus service X7 is the quickest way to reach Haddington from Edinburgh or Dunbar. From Haddington Eve Coaches run the 123 Gifford and Pencaitland Circular Route which takes you as far as Gifford (approximately 3 miles from the wood). There are a number of local taxi services available to take you the rest of the way if you are unable to walk. It can also sometimes be possible to arrange lifts for anyone attending courses to reach the wood from Haddington or Gifford.
